COS site information

Colorodo State University has an OC-3 connecting to to the Front Range GigaPoP (FRGP). This link has three PVC's which serve I2 traffic, CSU commodity traffic, and public commodity traffic seperately. The CSU Passive Monitor sees all of the PVC's. CSU attempts to shape "recreational traffic" (such as Napster, Scout, Gnutella, etc.) based on well known port numbers and direction of flows. The precise criteria of this shaping is subject to modification on a daily basis.
