FRG site information

The Front Range GigaPOP (FRGP) is a consortium of Universities, non-profit corporations, and government agencies that cooperate in an aggregation point called the FRGP in order to share Wide Area Networking (WAN) services. The current partners are UCAR/NCAR, NOAA, Colorado State University (CSU), CU-Boulder, CU-Denver, and the University of Wyoming. Additional partners are likely to join later.

NCAR/UCAR has agreed to provide the engineering and NOC support for the FRGP.

Until October 1st 2000 the NLANR FRG monitor was connected to the GigaPOP link into the vBNS. The monitor was not delivering data until August 2nd 2001, it is now connected to the Abilene port 0/1/1 of the frgp-as-1 LS1010 ATM switch. See the left hand side of this diagram.
